About The Stitch School
Ami has been running The Stitch School since 2014 with the aim of helping children learn how to sew by hand and how to use a sewing machine. Over 150 children have attended the regular workshops held at Simply Needlecraft in Swadlincote since it began, giving them the opportunity to learn new creative skills and make beautiful fabric craft items in a fully supported environment.
International recognition
In 2017 Ami entered the Stitch school into the festival of quilts and with lots of hard work from the students managed to secure 3rd place! A great achievement for the children involved, some of which had never sewn before joining the stitch school.
With the current lockdown lifestyle it has now become hard to run our sewing classes in person.
We are pleased to announce that the stitch school is going online!

How it works
Sign up and get everything you need for each class delivered to your door.
Learn essential techniques including hand sewing, machine sewing, embroidery, patchwork quilting and applique.
Sign up to get your first lesson pack
All of the fabric, buttons, pins and needles needed for each lesson are sent out on the 15th of each month.
Choose from Hand Sewing or Machine Sewing Projects
Not got a sewing machine? No problem! Choose either hand sewing or machine sewing when you sign up.
Receive a new lesson pack each month
We carefully select materials for each lesson pack. So you will always have everything you need for each months activities.
Tutorials delivered by video and live Zoom workshops
All lessons will be delivered remotely by video or live zoom workshops. Support will be available via email and facebook chat throughout your subscription.
